Lushanguan Road is a low-capacity street lying in Changning district in the direction of south to north, passing through three neighborhoods (Hongqiao 虹桥街道, Tianshan 天山街道, and Zhoujiaqiao 周家桥街道) with an approximate length of 2 km.

Its southern portion between West Yan'an Road 延安西路 and Xianxia Road 仙霞路, is within the range of Gubei Commercial Zone which was established in the 1980s as the first commerce zone of Shanghai open to foreign investments and residents. This part is one of the most prime blocks of the whole Gubei Commercial Zone as it is filled with a group of high-end office buildings and residential projects built with the highest construction standards at the time.

Take a halt at the intersection of Loushanguan Road by Xianxia Road, and you'll see a strong architectural comparison between the buildings on the north side of Xianxian Road and the ones southwards. As the ones spreading northwards are the typical old flats built around the 1980s or even earlier. Some of these old flats have already been pulled down or marked as the inclusion of re-development plans that will be filled with taller buildings used as malls or high-end apartments.

Keep the tour moving north to Maotai Road 茅台路, and you'll have a newly risen tall building on your left, which is a fancy complex that gathers an office rental, supermarket, and dozens of restaurants together to cater to the discerning market.

Pass by Maotai Road and take a halt at the following intersection. The main street stretching from the east to the west is Tianshan Road. It's the main thoroughfare that connects a couple of major residential neighborhoods to the city's airport on the west side - Hongqiao International Airport. On the right-hand facing north, it's the metro station of line 2 - Loushanguan Road Station.

Keep moving northwards after passing Tianshan Road, the northern part of Loushanguan road will lead to the street's northern end at Changning Road.
Walking through the last part of Loushanguan Road, you'll see a lot of old flats dominating the scenes on the street's two sides. In complement, the abundant stores, groceries, restaurants, and food markets form up the great supply to local lives.
