Luxun Park (Lu Xun Park)

Lying next to Shanghai Hongkou Football Stadium with a ground area of 70.7 acres in Hongkou district, Luxun Park is a tranquil oasis where nature touching and culture learning have been well combined together to serve as a recreation destination.

The parcel of the land was originally occupied by an outdoor shooting range for the usage of firearm training by the military troops over the period between the late 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, as long as a threat of a conflict escalated in the air, the troop would be braced and arrange training in the field.

After the establishment of the People's Republic of China, the park was taken over by the Chinese government and named "Hong Kou Park". In the following years, there was a growing consideration about renaming the park "Luxun Park" as Luxun enjoyed great reverence by people at the time and the park was one of his most visited parks, however, for some reasons, the call didn't realize until 1988 when the park was officially named Luxun Park after a memorial hall of Luxun had been established inside the park.

In addition to the landscape composition of a regular scenery park, Luxun Park has a dedicated square plot that is filled with statues of world-famed literary writers, which lends the park a distinctive air of literature.

At the southwest corner of the park, there is a fairground furnished with entertainment facilities for the deviation of entertaining children and kids-like adults.
